El Presidente Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I often get asked to try this cigar or that but I am short of time for a quick review.....so here we go. Saint Luis Rey Corona (07) Medium bodied from the get go but with solid coffee cream notes. It differentiates itself from Montecristo by the inclusion of some dried grass stalks. I thoroughly enjoyed this cigar and in fact headed for another which was much the same in terms of body and flavour. Simply one of those cigars where you wonder why you don't smoke them more often. Solid 88. Bolivar Inmensas (07) Rich bugger which intrigued me from the start. Roasted Peanut and earth abound. Medium body but it turned to the darkside mid length...mushrooms and dark rasted coffee. Set a box aside for myself. Cuaba Divino (07) Shared a few of these with Smith and Warren Friday past, Bloody crackers...medium full in body with loads of Peanut butter up front slowly turning to coffee cream with a charcoal edge. I am on record as saying these are the only Cuaba (bar the new LE ) I like and again I wonder why in Hades I don't smoke them more. 90.
shrink Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Keep 'em coming, Rob. Love that Boli Inmensa; along with the Gold Medal it's the last of a dying breed. But I understand that it's on the block. Mores the pity.
yossie Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Good thread! I have a question too. I smoked a Romeo from 2007 EL which was gifted by Trevor ,yesterday. It was nice for before noon. So, I want to know what vitlas are great in the brand.
Padrino Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I haven't yet had a RyJ 2007 EL that has been anything other than dull, one dimensional and just plain boring....... the HDM '07 EL on the other hand is just brilliant. Prez - Would glowing Cuaba mini-review have anything to do with a special coming up.... ? Have you tried the Exclusivos ? I have an '02 box that is absolutely brilliant at the moment.
smokem Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Touched upon two cigars I've been thinking about getting. The couple BI singles I've tried have been very good and over all I've heard good things about the Cuaba LEs.
Mr Peales Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Is the '07 Bolivar Inmensa similar in profile to the CEs or PCs?
ksblazer Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Nice reviews on a couple of my favorites (Inmensas & SLR Coronas) It's also nice to hear the Cuaba Divinos are smoking well. I've only smoked a couple of Cuaba singles and didn't care much for them. But this sounds like one I should try as it's been a while and my tastes have changed.
jwm8592 Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Hey Prez thx for making time for that Inmensas review, as we had previously discussed its sometimes hard to find time to review a cigar that doesn't really care about time. Are the 07's the oldest in stock?

They are the oldest in stock and I must say I was very surprised at how good they were. I had a few e-mails to try the 07's and I was glad i did.
