just looking at an american fly fishing mag - published, printed, distributed, read etc etc in the states. and yet it has an advert for fishing in cuba.

surely this contravenes the terms of the embargo?

(please don't take this as support for that position - just curious).

Nothing wrong in being first to the trough.

Ken -

1. Surely you know the frustration in attempting to find the logic in an illogical situation!!!

2. The embargo is the Federal Govt. official policy.

3. The Bill of Rights does make a big deal out of that 'Freedom of Speech' and 'Freedom of the Press' matter - and I'm sure the publisher of the fishing mag would stand behind that as his defense to offer opportunities to his readers to take part in fishing adventures in Cuba as I am certain that he will state his magazine has international distribution and is not limited to just readers in the States who are prohibited by Item 2 from enjoying such a trip. But because of that - should the reader of the magazine in Canada or Mexico or certain parts of New Jersey not have the right to be informed of such a business possibility? Yes, I said New Jersey - where the 'real' state motto is 'Everything's Legal - just don't get caught!!!'

4. If the above doesn't answer your question - refer back to Item 1.

PS - Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and your friends in the midst of this horrific wildfire situation... God Bless.....
