jayjayuk Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 got these b4 xmas no date, this is the 3rd of 5 first to are so so solid but not killing me these probably young'ish they look the biz, great wrapper heading towards dark brown nothing like maduro though just classey looking the sort of cigar you lite up and people have to take a look ,the seel when cold is not really expressive not classic cohiba type aromas, cut the cap and the draw is only slightley firm the same as the first 2 most whould love this draw but its not my cup of tea ,its starting out medium bodied no grassiness, theres a good ammount of smoke theres a richness to them this cigr is like a rich wine sauce if that makes sence whitch it dousnt lol,a nice ammount of spice, rich earthy mouth feel but there not killing me,probably because of the 06 party shorts that came with them from czar and they are thing thie biz on another level altogether, amazing really cos the party shorts cab50 are dirt cheap compared over half way through its smoking nice very solid good smoke not really a development but theres a nice earthy cedar and spice core keeping it honest these will be a different cigar in the years to come overall its a good cigar still got 2 left they wont see old age theselves score 88. right ive got a little add on i smoked another a few nights after this 1 and it was the best of the bunch much more what i was expecting from a premiem cigar the draw was much looses and 4 me it made a big difference i like a loose draw on a 42rg cigar and it delivered on all fronts much richer more smoke more spice, white pepper the earthy core was very rich and the flavours where nicely balanced i can still taste it now it left a great taste in the mouth which i liked a lot, this cigar is the 1 that will see me buying more, easily a 91.
El Presidente Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Another excellent review I have had some very good young and aged Partagas Shorts. Bloody good cigars. I have had magnificent Cohiba Siglo IV with not that much age (5 years). These experiences have been close to touching the cigar Gods. That is the difference between the two cigars
purosdave Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Nice review. One question though, are you eating bacon wrapped sausage with this cigar?
jayjayuk Posted February 4, 2009 Author Posted February 4, 2009 lol yea i am i love em chipolatas wrapped in bacon with wine and cigars,
Bartolomeo Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Cohiba Siglo III MEL FEB 08 Slight oily wrapper, looked liked crumpled wax paper 67 mins smoke time Pre draw had some traditional Cuban resistance with grassy undertones Flavors included vanilla beans, crème and rich butter Flavor profile started very slow in 1/3 but then picked up speed in 2/3 finding its identity Early rating was a 8/10 but then ended up giving this a 8.9/10 overall Would classify this as a Cohiba light, early on but became Med-Full at the end Unique Cohiba taste was apparent in second half of cigar Tight, Grey-Flannel colored ash 8.9/10 Bart
maalouly Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 it's amazing you were able to taste anything after eating the snags wrapped with bacon and red wine
Bartolomeo Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Revisited tonight after some additional resting, vast improvement over previous review......funny how these Cuban things work sometimes 9.2/10 Bart
