I'm afraid this isn't going to be a connoisseur's review. Apparently I lack all but the most basic capacity for detecting subtle flavors in cigars.

Anyway, the cigar itself is nice looking and seemingly well constructed. Well, except for the very top of the head, which was almost plugged. Too much to be able to clip.

Despite that, digging out a bit of the plug made the draw acceptable.

The Molinos is not a terribly complex cigar. It starts out fairly light, with a peppery aroma and a taste like ocean air. Over time, the pepper aroma gets stronger, and the flavor gets both fuller and harder for me to place. I finally decided it tasted like the smell from burning driftwood on the beach. And that's pretty much it. Not much deviation. Fortunately its something I enjoy.

You can see the great ash on this cigar.

The above might not seem like much of a recommendation, but if you're looking for a clean, light to medium cigar and you think the salty thing might be for you, I strongly suggest you do yourself a favor and give this classic a whirl.

I'm including a couple of photos of my smoking companions. :whip:

Thanks for the review Wiley!

I find the Molinos one of the softest most complex cigars there are. Draw is all important. It needs to be spot on otherwise there is little tolerance in this cigar to achieve the complexity it can deliver.

Nice review... with great photos to boot!

Rob, I suspect that it doesn't seem complex to me because I simply don't have your ability to identify subtle threads of flavor, and this is a subtle cigar. It's a little easier for me when the cigar whacks me over the head with its flavors. Not saying I prefer that though. I don't require complexity in cigars I enjoy.

Nice review. It's odd that I have some SP's and hardly get the salty taste unless I am searching for it, while others say it is too much.
