G'day all,

have a look at this youtube blurb about NZ. A colleague of mine (from Syria) got one of our ESL classes to watch this and complete a worksheet of comprehension questions.

I had been wondering what it was with Kiwi blokes...

I've emailed the people who's addresses you've posted here, with a link to this thread - I'm sure

they'll find it comical.

You do realize that you can edit your posts, so as not to have ten useless ones?.... or do you.....

have removed email addresses. given that there were a number of people in between, and i have never heard of any of them or they me, emailing them probably only got some other poor bastard i've never heard of in the soup.

Let me see if I understand all this...

The government gives you ten sheep when you're sixteen, but you need a license to marry your sister?

The average IQ of men in NZ is ony one-half that of women, so the Prime Ministers are all women?

Therefore: In New Zealand, you don't need a license to marry a sheep, unless it's the Prime Minister.

and she is related to you, but that is a given over there.

It's amazing that no matter where you are on this planet - the folks there have a 'favourite' group that is the butt of their jokes....

We spent a really lovely few weeks in Nova Scotia and found the punch line to many of their jokes whose point was how stupid another group of people are were 'Newfies' - which is the term we heard referring to folks from Newfoundland...

When we sailed to Newfoundland - we heard variations of the same jokes - but the butt of their jokes were folks from Nova Scotia...and Prince Edward Island....

So with the Australia/New Zealand situation - is it just good natured humour and teasing between these 2 countries - or is there some animosity here?
