Today i smoked my 4th SD 5 after 4 months of setle down in the humi. Big change so far, the cigars had settle down and have much more control. The floral taste that bothered me so much at first is almost gone and i think they've become a much more enjoyable medium flavour smoke, but i don't believe they are going to be much more than that... Far from i would expect an EL should be...

Interesting, Taino. Was the floral taste funky and odd or just too strong. I don't mind a touch of delicate floral topnote, but perhaps this was something unusual?

I did. And it doesn't look like this cigar is getting much love elsewhere, either. How unfortunate. I suppose I'll have to console myself with the Partagas Salomones.

I have only had a few. I liked them. They are short. If you do not want a short cigar, this is not the right place to go. They are bold and lovely. I like the PSD5 when I do not have time for SD4 or longer.

Of the same Vitola I have enjoyed the Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robusto and the Monte Cristo Petit Edmundos. They are all great smokes when you want a statement from a cigar, but do not have time for a Double Corona, Churchill or even a Torpedo or Robusto.

I once heard this vitola described as the last portion of a DC, without the need to smoke the first part to get there. I agree sometimes.

These are 20 minute smokes; maybe 30. Not longer.

I do fancy the vitola also, and i think is perfect size for a short smoke like you say Candido, but my point is that i would ask a bit more of an EL than what is delivering now the SD 5 and what i think is going to deliver in the future.

I think you nailed it Taino. In a short cigar you seek a pocket rocket whic remains true to its pedigree.
