rafa Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 All cigars are single, recent purchase (no box codes, only some of them i saw the box year date) 1- Romeo y julieta - cazadores - 16'2 * 44 Tight draw. Sweet taste and aroma with hay and wood in the palate. Few nuances. My first one Cazadores, not so strong how i can imagine after reading some reviews. 2 - VEGAS ROBAINA - Don Alejandro - Prominente: 19,4 * 49 - From a 3 pack , a gift from a friend who travelled Cuba 2 months ago. Soft construccion and easy draw. All spectrum of differents chocolates ,cocoa, dark, moka, truffle, with coffee and cedar nuances. Delicious, like a box a chocolates, although almost 2 hours of chocolates sometimes can be tired. 3 - CUABA - Divinos - Petit Bouquet: 10,1 * 42 . Beautiful construccion, perfect draw, slow combustion and a lot of smoke. Strong and tasty with vegetal, wood , cocoa nuances. It have its own complexity. I like it. 4 - DONA FLOR - Robusto Connecticut: 12,4 * 50 - From a 5 pack, a gift from my sister when she travelled to Brasil in September. Acceptable construccion, with a nipple in the cap, good draw and combustion. Strong cedar taste with cream nuances, well paired. A different smoke and a pleasant surprise. 5 - SAN CRISTOBAL DE LA HABANA - El principe - Minuto : 11,0 * 42 . Good construccion and beautiful appearance. Correct draw. Full toasted tobacco flavour, with cedar, cocoa and vegetal nuances. A little gem this time (in others occasions this cigar can be bored, without nuances) 6 - SANCHO PANZA - Belicosos - Campana : 14 * 52 - year 2000 Rude cap with Very beautiful construccion, spongy between fingers and perfect draw. Smooth, delicate, elegant with a lot of nuances, difficult to describe: wood, cedar, cocoa, vanilla , leather, licorice , coffee, cinnamon, hay, earth, sometimes salted, sometimes sweet, all very well balanced from the beggining to the end. Perhads the best cigar this christmas. 7 - CUABA - Tradicionales - Favoritos: 12 * 41 - year 2003 Very good construccion and correct draw, but savage smoke. Very strong with wet wood taste or like smell the fields after rain, no nuances, very primitive . Nothing to compare with his small brother Divinos. 8 - MONTECRISTO - Petit Edmundo - 11 * 52 Exquisite construccion and too easy draw. Delicious cigar from the first puff, full flavour with sweet cedar predominat taste and cream and cocoa nuances. Too short.
El Presidente Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Great summaries Rafa of a very good Christmas cigar season I think your sumaries hit the mark on all of the cigars bar the NC which I have had no experience with. Those Cuaba Divinos' really carried the Cuaba flag until the 08 LE Piramide arrived
ksblazer Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Sounds like I need to re-sample some of these smokes. Nice pic's and great descriptions.
