Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill

LPA Dic 07

General overview: dry smell, well rolled, no soft spots, few veins on the wrapper were color is not really very uniform. I would say it has an acceptable look, but not the best looking cigar around.

I cuban cut the cigar and light it up.

1st third: burns well, good draw, bitter chocolate, tobacco and milk flavours appear. Mild to medium in strength.

2nd third: corint raisins, milk, and to the end of the third cedar appears. A nutty aftertaste starts at the middle of this third. A bit of ammonia appears on the smoke but I don't feel it smoking. The cedary notes become stronger by the end of this third and start moving the milk away. Good ash. Medium strength.

3rd third: cedar is predominant here, few spices appear and very little milk still left. Ammonia flavor appears here, gets stronger and certainly kill the cigar in a short end.

Not pleasant any more ant put it away.

Overall impression: this is a mild to medium young cigar. Acquires certain control in the 2nd third but ammonia gives it a short end. This could be one of the milkiest cigars around in a few years, but to me still needs a couple of years to be at its best, not really much more than that. Just enough to gain more control and get rid of the ammonia.

Great review Taino. I've got 3 of these in the humi now (one is ready the other two just came in from the Czar a week or two ago), and I'm looking forward to wrapping my head around them. How was the draw on yours? And what's in the glass?

This cigar has hit the proverbial 'Home Run' for me right from the Original Releases....

This is one of my 'perfect' cold winter smokes - packed with the signature RyJ flavour, great ring size so no problem with a hot burn and just when you realize that you are on the verge of hypothermia - the cigar has given its last puff and you're ready to come inside...where you light up the full RyJ Churchill accompanied with a snifter of Remy Excellence to help you recover from the cold weather experience....

Draw was fine.

In the glass was a 12 yo something. No brand, was a gift from a scotish friend

I have really been enjoying these (Tubos here also) - recently got some in dress boxes but Lisa is keeping them from me  so they can age some.

Thanks for your review - makes keeping my paws off the new boys easier.
