KB24 Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 AVO Lounge Edition-Exclusive to Corona Cigar Company in Florida and AVO lounges in Europe. Thoughts from those who have tried them or know someone who has? They come in a Toro size and a 7.5 x 50 size. -Patrick p.s. The only reason I come to you guys for these NC questions is because I respect your opinions more than any state-based board / forum I have come across and I know a lot of you guys are from the states. Thanks in advance and hopefully no one takes offense to the NC questions!
El Presidente Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Patrick non Cuban questions are always welcome. The local boys in OZ will likely have no experience with the cigar (including me) but I hope others can assist.
Tampa1257 Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Patrick, the last time I was at Corona Cigars in Orlando I met Avo (again, as the Corona Cigar Shop on Sand Lake is his "Home" cigar shop, his son was also there from NYC). As I was walking the store, he stopped me and handed me one and said that it was a perfectly blended and balanced cigar and that I would enjoy it. I may still have it in my humidor, if so I'll pull it out and sample it (I may have given it away to someone, so I'll check). If you are ever in Orlando on a Sat evening, go by the Corona Cigar Company shop on Sand Lake and you'll have about a 95% chance in meeting Avo.
KB24 Posted December 16, 2008 Author Posted December 16, 2008 I plan on ordering a box of the 7.5 x 50 tomorrow. Let me know Chuck as I would love to read your review.
Jay Hemingway Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Avo's are excellent cigars. One of the only non cubans i smoke anymore. the blends are works from hendrik kelner who is the same man behind the davidoff blend (another NC i will smoke every now and then). davidoff owns avo, most of the cigars in that category are pretty well balanced and smooth smokes. perfect construction and draw i might add. very nutty and creamy. mostly mild. heard the lounge edition are pretty good but i have yet to try any. i do however strongly suggest to grab some LE05's, LE07's and 22's if you can find them(have 1/2 canister left sleeping in the humi). If you want a perfect example of a quality AVO, grab a classic AVO#2 tubo.
