mkz Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 Ramon Allones Specially Selected TEB JUL 07 Stored at 64-65% RH, 21°C Prelight taste: Mild grass. Prelight aroma: Salty tobacco. Draw: Perfect. 1:3 Starts out with intense but yet mild tobacco. A hint of sweetness and tons of smoke. After the delightful start it goes on with dry tobacco taste dipped in chocolate. From time to time an intense woody flavour pops up and rolls around in my mouth. I´m having some difficulties keeping the RASS alive. I guess its the weather. Its -1°C outside and hail is falling down. The risk of snow is imminent. In the shack its right now +8°C and that is my fault. I turned on the heater to late. Usually its atleast +15°C when I sit down. Anyhow... The smoke is thick and its all about creamy tobacco with mild notes of wood and chocolate. The burn is slightly off (due to my efforts to keep my friend alive I guess). Some nutiness (?) is lurking in the background but I cant really grasp it. All around the experience so far is creamy and mild. I make a small adjustment with my torch to see if I can straighten out the burn. 2:3 Shack temperature is now up at stunning +11°C and I dont have so much trouble keeping it alive anymore. Taste is smooth creamy tobacco on the mild side with a pinch of salt. Right now, life´s good! 3:3 The smoke seems thicker now... or to quote Chandler Bing: “Could it be thicker?” So far this RASS is like a mild soothing massage. Relaxation rolled up in tobacco. Dreamy clouds sourrounds me. Is this stuff legal? More cream now. It wraps in the overall tobacco experience. Its also showing some strenght towards the end. Some signs of youth shows between the mild creamyness. These should be great in a year or two. Still, its already a pleasure hanging out with young Mr. RASS. Note to self: Dont smoke this on an empty stomach. It appeared mild but gave me an terrible nicotine-rush 30 minutes later... This is how our cars looked when I came out...
mkz Posted November 24, 2008 Author Posted November 24, 2008 Forgot the overall score... 91/100 with an even brighter future to come.
El Presidente Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Great review! The experience mirrored mine yesterday in so many ways. Absolute crackers
Claudius Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Great review! The experience mirrored mine yesterday in so many ways. I suppose you've got slightly higher outside temperatures, though.
Don Candido Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 I have most of a box left, which I bought at Fox/Lewis in 1996. (Did I name a retailer other than Czar? Doh!) It is time to get into them. They are good, but for some reason, I keep them under enough boxes I do not pull them out too often.
