Post election consolation - My first Cuban Cohiba ever!

Recommended Posts

I posted this on another forum, but I felt that maybe some would find it entertaining here. :)

As I started to come to grips with Mccain's loss and an overwhelming Democratic victory I decided to do the only rational thing. Light up a cigar and allow my anxiety, fear and despair to go up in smoke?

The question was, what do I smoke?

I chose to go with a Cohiba Siglo I that I have been saving for just such an occasion. I have never smoked a Cuban Cohiba before so I was very excited about this little stick.

As I opened my temporary travel humidor fashioned out of a couple of zip locks and a kitchen sponge my hands began to shake in expectation. Finally I was about to smoke a cigar made by the brand which is the legend of legends.

As I prepared to light my Cohiba I took my time looking at it.

It is a beutiful little stick. Nice dark wrapper. Perfect construction. The smell was very simular to my Monti 2's, but that could be because the little guy spent two weeks in zip lock with the bigger Montis.

As I light up, I immediately tasted mild earthiness, and as the little guy got fired up my pallet was filled with the taste of coffee. The cigar was smooth, had a reasonably good, although at times slightly tight draw. Mid way I tasted coca and more earthiness.

As I continued to smoke I was suprised at how heavy of a punch this little guy packed. Definatley full bodied.

WHAT A GREAT LITTLE SMOKE.

Beutiful dark grey ash.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. This one is for Pres. Obama

Nice Ash. Burned as well as McCain's horrible campaign.

Thank you :) I hope I do to!

Speaking of the sun continuing to rise, have you seen the new South Park Post-election episode? It was hillarious and dealt with the unrealistic expectations of both sides.

You can view the full episode here.

Also notice the cigar McCain is enjoying in the end :)

Don't know if you're a South Park fan, but I have enjoyed their sharp political humor. Granted they take it overboard sometimes, but 80% of the time I love em.

» I agree with you, Boris. South Park was hilarious! I haven't had the

» heart to light one up yet. Of course, I hear cigars are part of Obama's

» new spread the wealth taxes. LOL!

I am sure most Americans on this particular forum aren't REALLY worried about higher taxes on cigars.

I know I am not anymore.

Great review.
