anacostiakat Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Grabbed a bottle on recommendation as I was looking for a GSM and something I had not had. Sipping on it and it has a nice body. A little tannic to my limited taste. Doesnt interfere in enjoying it though. As it breathes and I sip some more it is a very nice bottle for the price point. This is the first time I have had anything from Hewitson. I think there was one other bottle on the shelf that I might try if I remember next time. I was going to go with an Iron Pressing but this fit the budget much better. :-D
Ken Gargett Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 dean hewitson an excellent winemaker. spent a lot of time at petaluma in south australia and has access o some seriously old vines and quality vineyards. worth trying whatever you can find.
Guest Warren Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Ken first off I would like to say thanks for your hospitality last night mate , it was a blast. When I saw this wine post I thought I would ask you about a bottle of red we had last night. What was the name of the red that I said tasted like butterscotch. I wouldn't mind tracking some of that down. Cheers Mate and thanks again. Warren
