shrink Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Ten years have worked their magic on these diminutive carlotas. When young, they are veritable firecrackers, whipsawing your palate and senses with the raw sensations of untanned leather, crushed black pepper and intense spicy notes. Ah, but with age an entirely different personality emerges. Soft, demure, and seductive. When clipped, my nose was greeted with aromas of tanned saddle leather, decomposed cedar, and lemon flowers. On my tongue, the smoke showed a crisply sweet complex of dry berry, melon rind, cocoa, citrus essence, toasted cinnamon and crushed walnuts. Patience is mandatory; this is a cigar to be "sipped" rather than swallowed. Light, slow draws are rewarded with a long, deep, chocolate-toned finish. The cigar is balanced, complex, and utterly complete. Like a fine chocolate truffle slowly melting in the mouth.
Guibou Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 What a mouthwatering review! Too bad there's no pix otherwise i could have bite part of my laptop :-D
Tampa1257 Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Bob, you need to quit eating Capt Crunch Cereal before writing cigar reviews! Nice job and I agree with all the flavors in the aged Partagas Serie du Connaisseur No. 3's:ok:
Colt45 Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Great review of one of my favorite cigars. Sounds more like nine years of magic, though :-D
