Finally got around to a little project...

I scored a nice humidor for storing unopened boxes.

It was a store display unit by CAO (like this one)

I wasn't diggin the veneer so I popped off the legs, sealed off the interior and starting pimpin' :-D Now I'm not a handy kind of guy, pretty much notorious for screwing **** up...but so far it's coming along. :-P

It's a 300ct humidor with 4 removeable cedar draws. If you remove the draws, I would say you could easily store 6 or more boxes of smokes (depending on the size of the boxes)

I was very apprehansive about painting veneer...I found this new stuff from Krylon that's supposed to be great for painting plastics & glass.

We'll see how it goes...

» I think your paint job just made super humidor craftsman Al cry! :crying:

Lets wait until we see the finished item , but as a lover of wood I feel a little weepy myself.

did the door and added a racing stripe down the hood :-)

Tomorrow it gets a couple coats of lacquer and it's pretty much done.

All done! It took more effort and patience than I anticipated.

Nonetheless, (IMO) it's a cool looking storge box for the basement rec room

20,000 word tutorials, smokos and not using Dulux can negatively impact the process.

» Not sure about the new look! What does the inside look like?

4 draws are removeable, I wont be using them...I want to utilize all the interior space to store boxes. Cheap-ass temp/hygrometer from Walmart. ($6.00) All thats left to do is toss in a bag of humidity beads and start fillin' this sucker up! :-D
