Spartan Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 My noob skills are not quite sharp enough to detect a counterfeit habanos outside of the box. This is via the Bahamas....Hows it look?
Jimmy2 Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Whats the size of the cigar ? Is that a Monte Edmundo ?
Grasso Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Don't see anything blatantly wrong with the appearance - in fact, it looks delicious. Did you get it from the Bahamas yourself, or did a friend etc. bring it back for you? Smoke it and see what you think. You could always order the same cigar from our hosts for comparison's sake. It does look like an Edmundo judging from the relative length/girth.

I have bought both authentic and fakes in the Bahamas. Probability good if purchased at one of the resort shops like Havana Humidor. Taste it, tell us!
Spartan Posted August 8, 2008 Author Posted August 8, 2008 » Whats the size of the cigar ? Is that a Monte Edmundo ? If I had to make a educated guess, yes i'd say it's the Edmundo. It's a gift, bought from a boutique at a pretty nice resort. Should I let it sit awhile before I hit this bad boy?? :-D

How long did it spend in transit? Folks around here typically recommend letting them sit in the humidor for 30 days or so after the rigors of being shipped. I'm sure you're pretty antsy though. I know I get that way when I want to try a new smoke . . .

One thing to remember is this, The longer the cigar rests in your stable humidor, the better it is going to taste. I would suggest to let it rest at least 30 days before you "Hit It"! :-D
