Seth
What would you guys recommend as a starting place for my journey into Cuban cigars. My favorite NCs right now are Pardon, Aged Anejo and Opus, and DPG Serie JJ. I have had a few Cubans but nothing that grabbed my and said " Yes, now this is a cigar!!! " I guess some of that could be that my palate has not developed enough. Thanks for any recomendations. Seth
Tampa1257
Seth, We have recently had several Newbie requests for "Must Try" type of cigars. Here is the link to one of the threads that gives some good suggestions. Enjoy and let us know what you decide on. http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/board_entr...er&descasc=DESC Tampa
Evo03
I would ask Rob and Lisa what is smoking good right now, that's your best bet. I like Partagas Shorts, Bolivar PC, Por Larranaga PC, RASS, Bolivar Coronas Extra, Punch Royal Sellection #12, Upmann Coronas Major. I gravitated to Petit and half coronas for the first 6-7 months. They're normally inexpensive, and you get a good idea of what each brand is like.

semery74
What would you guys recommend as a starting place for my journey... It's easy, just start alphabetically with Bolivar or Belinda (If you can find them) and work your way through to Vegueros.

" I guess some of that could be that my palate has not » developed enough. Not necessarily so. It can depend on the cigars and how young they were. It's one of the things that can make these types of recommendations difficult. For example, I could recommend the H. Upmann Magnum 46. But unless your sample(s) were at least three (and preferably five) years old, you'd stand a good chance of being disappointed, and would probably think me crazy. Having said all that, try the Montecristo No.4 :-)

There are lots of other possible choices, but if after this list you do not at least find yourself intrigued with Havana cigars, you may want to stay away...
