dentonparrots
I really do appreciate that I'm a complete novice to everything cigar related so feel free to shoot me down on this idea, but I think it would be pretty cool to grow my own tobacco plants (virginia and havana) and roll some cigars myself for future use maybe, even just out of the novelty of it. Has anyone tried it on here? I imagine it would be one hell of a satisfying smoke.
asc
Fun in thought... Too much work in reality for my liking. I'll grow a fresh veggie garden to enjoy and relax afterwards with a professionally made cigar. Just seems like there's too much skill involved that I don't posses. Tampa1257
If you want a detailed process from the seed to the cigar, read the following: http://www.guerrillero.co.cu/sitiotabaco/e...glesh/index.htm The tobacco is handled approximately 200 times during the process and it will take 3-5 years from when you begin. Smoke a cigar and forgetaboutit!
dentonparrots
I really don't mind the 3-5yr period (or however long it takes). I'm growing bonsai trees from seed anyway to get non-scarred perfection, so that's not long in comparison. On the plus side, it gives me time to smoke other cigars to gain a reasonable taste of them too. Imagine doing this with your own home-grown tobacco leaf? Here's some links for vids of growing them... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fM3lMyU8k8g 2nd part http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4XQTwTCY-g&feature=related The feeling when lighting one up must be immense and definately worth the wait. Does anyone know of anywhere in the UK you can by grown and ready leaf?
