Just want to tap into the collective brainpower of this forum and ask:

Which brand of Humidor does everyone use or can recommend?

Same with the Lighter and Cutters...

Thank you in advance for the input.

xikar and palio seem to be pretty popular for cutters.

As for lighters, I'm using my $16 creme brulee torch. Workin just fine for now. I have a backup vector titan for portable use.

I have a mixture of "humidors", including a converted 52 bottle wine fridge, a 120 qt cooler, a 400 count footlocker style that can be found at several bargain online humidor retailers and several 100-150 count desktop humidors, also generic at many online retailers.

For lighters, I like Blazer for a torch, and Atoll for a soft flame.

My favorite cutter is the Palio.

I use a coolidor to store boxes and a couple of desktop humidors for ready to smoke sticks. As for lighter, I use the cheap .99 cent Bic lighters. I travel quite a bit and usually only bring a carry-on, so I've gotten used to using the cheap butane lighters. Easy to get and cheap to replace. As for a cutter, I'm looking at buying a new one, I'm still using a gifted stainless double guillotine and its just about time for a new one. Thinking about getting a Xikar. Any opinions?

I have a Xikar but it is not cutting as clean as I would like. So thinking of getting a new cutter instead.

I've never really paid any attention to Xikar, because I want to get a Palio. However, I think there are two main classes of the xikar - one made in Taiwan and the other made in Germany (I think). Basically the German ones are the one you will want to buy because a number of people have issues with the Taiwanese model. As with all things, the better made ones are the more expensive, so weigh it up and decide how much you're willing to spend.

I have an Avallo 1200 Deluxe cabinet humi. Just about bleeding at the gills. Am going to order the Avallo 2000 Cooled cabinet to hold me over until I build my house...then its a walk-in humi instead of the wifeys walk-in closet;-)

Xikar cutter for me, and it works like a charm everytime.

I have a Prometheus lighter, but only use it while on the go. When at the house its a creme brulee torch. Nothing come close to it.

I use a Bargain Humidors Vicksburg humidor... [link=http://www.bargainhumidors.com/bh/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=HUM-BH2]Link[/link]

I use a Palio cutter at home and one of those Little Havana single blades in the car, daily.

I use my Xtend lighters almost exclusively...I love 'em.

my main humidor is an aristocrat end table, with the digital set and forget. i have a number of humidors spread around other places and at my two offices. at my main office, i have a beautiful jj hand crafted model that draws all kinds of attention on my side table.

cutters, i have two xi2's i use mostly, but i also have scattered cheap guillotine cutters around wherever i may find myself - several in the car, in each luggage bag, in my hunting bags and coats, etc... that way i am never without.

lighters - whatever i can get my hands on, except for zippos.

I have Igloo coolerdors, which work extremely well for me. I have a Davidoff, a Xikar, and a Swiss Army Knife cutter; I like the SAK best. I have a Dupont soft flame and a Porsche Design torch lighter and like them both.

I have three desktops - small, medium, and large - and a medium size tupperdor.

I've thought about a cooler, but I'm starting to think further ahead, and would

like to convert a closet to a small walk-in.

For cutters I mainly use a xikar, but also use swiss army knife scissors, and my

finger nails.

Zippo is still my lighter of choice - and I've never had any ill tasting cigars from

using it.

I have a 100 count cheapy desk top.

I also have a 200 count Michael Dixon. It is quite nice, matched grain birds eye maple satin finish.

And finally an Avallo AH-1200 which is also bulging.

As for cutters, I use a Xikar.

Lighter: Prometheus torch.

Seems like everyone has different means of storing, cutting and lighting the cigar.

Though I have to admit, Members seems to really like Creme Brulee.

Must be the ease to light a stogie with a Butane Blow torch.

Still trying to work the single jet torch from my lighter.

I guess from the looks of things, need to suggests a few things for Christmas. Humidor / Cabinet, Cigars for the latter, cutters and a few lighters should just fill the stocking.

Lost a cheap cutter the other day and it was the best one I have ever had. Xikar scissor is working OK but not as good as that cheap one.:-(

Blazer torch is the best lighter in the world....!!!!

Make my own humidors out of the most beautiful exotic woods, wonderful hoby.

The Little Havana single blade cutter is great. Sharp, great cut and if you lose it, who the hell cares? I keep one in my truck all the time, and take them out with me if I'm smoking and drinking out on the town.

Hey Mel, Post some pics of your humidors. I am sure everyone would like to see them. I know that I would.

I have an Avallo 1200 Deluxe at the office and a 2000 at home. For cutters I have a Palio that I love and a Xicar that I like also. My lighers are a triple torch cheapie from JR's and a very nice Xtend that I love and uses so much less butane.

I do the same, just keep one in the car. Great cutter.

Not that I have not done this numerous times... but the odorizing agent in mapp and propane gases used for soldering is not something you want to taste in a cigar!

For a cutter, I use a cheapie that the manager of my local shop recommended, and sure enough it gives a nice clean cut. I can't complain for $8. For lighters, I am now a converted Blazer Z-plus man. My Colibri is now my emergency backup only. And, 2 Igloo coolers hold all my cigars, mostly non-Habanos. But I'm trying. :-)
