GoatLocker
Bolivar Coronas Extra Franciscos, 143mm x 44 ring 1998 (NNSU VC04) Nice construction, but very firm with a slightly rectangular box press. Wrapper was thin with a silky sheen and caramel in color. I picked this cigar from a dress box from 98 and went to the back porch with a Dr. Pepper. It was a bit tight with very little give when squeezed. Once clipped, the draw was as supected, firm but acceptable. By the 1/2 way point, the draw was greatly improved, just a bit tight. Right from the start the CE was full bodied, sweet and spicy. Flavors of toasty tabacco, nuts and coffee, along with a dash of pepper and honey. It didn't change much, other than building in strength, but that didn't matter, as it was so good, I didn't want it to change! Burn was near perfect, never requiring relight or touchup. A great, straight forward cigar with loads of flavor. 92/
strayvector
Nice review. I've only tried 2 of these and was not overly impressed. I love the other Bolivars like the BBF, corona, and RC so maybe it was just a bad box. From your review, I think maybe I'll walk to the shop and pick one up. I'm in the mood for a strong stick today. Thanks.

Mel
never had a bad Boli yet! I too have not had a bad Boli and I think that Simon Bolivar is El Re Del Mundo. I have gone through half a cab of CEs and PCs in the last five weeks and there is no slowing down. I got two cabs on hold at a favorite vendor. Cohiba and Bolivar are my two favorite Marcas.:-P Thanks for the nice review.
Loki
Great review! Sad thing is I'll never get to try one from that year. So I will just have to try a newer one.

I've only got 04 production but even so, they are smoking reasonably well while showing great potential.
