winelover Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Think I've got about half of each picture! Apologies and may I raise the excuse of it being my first photo post!
bassman Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 The MC#1 has really improved in the past couple years. My early 06s are smoking great. Give yours another year to really come around.
anacostiakat Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Good review. Damn! Your handwriting is almost as bad as mine! :-D Nice fence! :-)
El Presidente Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 So many of my photo's turn out like your last......but never while drinking water ;-) I have found the Monte 1's to be fantastic from 06/07. If you haven't already done so...dry box the next for 2-3 days prior and give us an update. Thanks for a great review
winelover Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 Great looking stick. Prelight aroma, interestingly, milk cloves and black tea. Pre-light draw, not too tight. Draw a little loose and initially flavours a bit harsh and soapy - perhaps it was down to using cooking matches. Note to self - don't rush this! Cleansing palette with some San Pellegrino. Cigar improving but still a bit bitter - bit like burnt colombian coffee. Trying to forget about the cigar for a little while and back to re-drawing my CV. Returning to cigar, medium full bodied and improving a lot, montecristo cream beginning to show through but still with hints of burned coffee. About the half way mark, bursts into a delicious latte :-) Remains medium/full. Hints of white pepper if nasally exhaled. Last third was pretty damn full bodied, retaining same flavour profile. Overall, a reasonable smoke as it is particularly one it gets going - probably an 86, but I think really it would benefit a great deal from ageing, and could even turn into a gem
