smokum
To me it is taking out my weeks supply and storing them in a cool desktop that is around 50% humidity. This allows my smokes to dry a bit before I smoke themm.

Well living in AZ where there is no humidity and it is a completely dry heat, I take my cigars out of their 65% normal storage and place them in a small desktop humi that is completely dry (ie no humi device at all). I only have to leave mine in there for about 24 hours and they are ready to smoke. Others depending on where they live take 2-3 days in a non regulated humi before they smoke them. Really it is all up to personal preference. Some people dont like to dry box at all. They take them right out of the 65% humi and smoke them. I would suggest trying out a few different ways and see what you like.
