I have had 2 787 Perfectos from my box and have not enjoyed them. Looking forward to some aged Tesoro's.

Thoughts? » » -Patrick Funny, after not having done so for quite some time, this past week, I stopped by a couple of locals. One of them had the Tesoro, but I did not try one. Along with a couple of other things, I did however, re-visit the Domaine (#30), which I used to enjoy quite a bit. Afterwards, I also realized I had a #40 (torpedo) in the NC box, which I've had for a few years. I smoked that as well. Both were very good, showing good depth, and as always, very well made. And talk about blend consistency...... I'm thinking about picking up more to keep for change of pace.
havanaclub7 Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 I haven't had an Avo in years (or any other NC cigar for that matter). But back in the days of the cigar boom, I really liked Avos a lot -- especially the Number 3 and the Maestoso. When new cigar brands were popping up left and right and established cigar brands were pumping out as many cigars as they could - quality be damned - Avo and the rest of the Davidoff stable remained consistently good. In those days, my usual cigars were either the Avo No. 3 or Maestro or the Griffins Prestige. I also liked the Davidoff Double <> a great deal. When I discovered the legendary taste of a fine Habano a decade ago, I stopped the NCs and pretty much never looked back. It would be interesting to try an Avo today and see if it's what I remember.
