aavkk Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Great review Rob, it looks just like the box I received yesterday . Wrappers appear to be very toothy like mine. I wonder if they are the same box code.
Mr.T Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Great review Prez! I had a Siglo IV a couple weeks ago and again this weekend up at the cabin and it was spectacular. The consistency from the box has been great. It was a spice bomb! This is my favorite Corona Gorda.
Leftridge Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Really amazing review! Love to know if you have more of that box code!
toasterhead Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Dear Prez, See, what did I tell you:-D If only I had the imagination and finely tuned palate of a true expert. Great review as always; I have a lot to learn. Thanks, Dave
Mel Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Hey Rob these sound like some Sig II that I have. Good on the front half and harsh on the second, darn near unsmokable. Have you seen any II's that are like that?:-|

El Presidente Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 Cohiba Siglo IV TAS May 07 There was a time in the past I avoided the Siglo IV. Took too long to come good…too long to deliver its undoubted promise. This example was perfect. Great oily wrapper, great construction. Clipped the cap and the draw immaculate. Sweet tea on the palate. I contemplated which Siglo IV would turn up upon lighting. The pepper monster or the medium bodied gent. This is the first 07 Siglo IV I have tried. Fired up the foot. From the outset it was all sweet cloves…..an intoxicating spicy sweet aroma fills the air and is matched on the palate. Gorgeous mid bodied perfection with milk coffee, clove, sweet grass all wrapped in a medium body. The smoke has weight which belies its mid body. Thick, viscous, velvety mouthfeel. Delicious. I try as best I can to hold myself from drawing quickly on this cigar. I want to…..Each draw and the kaleidoscope of flavours delivered makes me want to immediately draw again. I have now stopped work. This is the one in a hundred cigars which demand complete attention and so I give it. Becoming stronger/bolder from the halfway point. Medium ful now….darker…more malevolent. Milk coffee is dark espresso. The cloves have a bite, the honey is now unpurified. God I love this cigar. The finish can be marked down for being a little tarry but there was still plenty of sweet and sour flavours. I have no idea where this cigar will go over the years but I can only guess that it will become exceptional. It has the body, the flavour complexity, the lineage. I smoked a second straight after this and it was a mirror image. One cab made it to my locker. 93/100
