Was it that good? You hate those things, I have seen you choose Parent Teacher Nites over smoking a D'OR No2.

I'd adorned the ankle bracelet with a bit of bling, and no one was the wiser - until now.

Hey, a bit too much to drink, you get a little curious, stuff happens. But you've never

complained before ;-)

Good to hear your experience with this sample. I've one more single that I'm going to smoke soon.

Not sure of the month, but I have a box of these from OSU 02. Fantastic cigars. Not for when you want something strong, but the honied flavors really shine.

Is it safe to assume then that the Medaille D'or No 2 really takes 6 years to become approachable?

Has anyone enjoyed a younger version. Would love to hear your thoughts.

One of my favorites and I'm glad you've "seen the light". I've tried to stock up as much as possible and for the life of me could not understand why there was seemingly endless supply of such an excellent cigar with 6 years of age no less.

Until recently, I have never seen box codes other than 2002 or younger. I am extremely interested in how the current versions are smoking. Maybe it is a cigar that needs 5+ years of good storage?!

Rob you might want to link up this review to the Czar site.

You have some pretty harsh words for this cigar on there!;-)

Certainly sounds delicious. I have been able to locate a box of OSU AGO 01. Any thoughts on how those would be coming along or if I can expect something similar to the 2002 vintage.

colt is clearly much clever than you, and while your character assessment of the man may be accurate, surely that is the biggest case of pot kettle, pot kettle, pot kettle since one politician accused another of lying.

getting dangerously low on my '02s but if you think they are good, try the '99s. also getting dangerously low.

LA GLORIA CUBANA MEDAILLE D'OR NO.2 OSU MAR 02

Inspired by Colts review a few days ago I decided to face my arch nemesis ....the LGC Medaille D'Or No 2. I cactually have the same box code so I was interested to see how I would fare.

This cigar is my Kryptonite. I have tried so many over the years and always found them to be grassy and herbal...including this box and box code.

Yet Colt45 is no idiot. Sure...a forum malingerer on likely home detention and a person with questionable sexual tendencies....but the man knows what he likes and he liked this cigar.

This LGC example felt great (they all do). Besides some stitched patternwork on the wrapper which would make Frankenstein proud....it felt oily, supple and had a great floral aroma. I have been fooled before by this Puro Jesabel. Promise the world, flutter eyelids lull me into bed only to discover it is a souless and repulsive experience.

Clipped the cap to find a lovely draw and a sweet tobacco / grassy flavour on the lips. Been here before. The grass will turn into the dominant feature and I will have the smoking experience of a grazing prime Angus bull.

Fired up the foot. Medium bodied....floral...toasted tobacco and honey? What the hell? The opening to this cigar is structured, sensual and down right sexy. There is a fantastic core of pure tobacco but it has wrapped itself in sweet, spicy silks. A little citrus, a little cocoa, a little Hibiscus. Gorgeous!

Into the second third and it continues its complex interplay of flavours and aroma. It is progressively developing more of a backbone but still medium bodied. The sweet nuances are still there. Try to pinpoint the actual flavours and they lilt and rise. Definate great tobacco, hay, honey, flowers, milk coffee.

Getting stronger towards the backend. Some pepper arriving, some charred wood and the sweetness has gone to the extreme edge. We often talk about a cigar taking you on a "Journey" and this is one cigar which is showing me a hell of a ride.

At completion I am speechless. I have tried this exact box of cigars for the best part of four years and have received nothing but dissapointment. And yet today it is one of the finest cigars I have had this year. No doubt it is a solid 93/94.

Get your hands on this box code. Lise has them minus the two boxes I took for myself today. Give them maybe another six months to a year but no longer as I don't know how it could become much better.
