Publisher note: I don’t usually post rumors but all seems too quiet in Cuba. No reflections lately, no photos after meeting with Chavez, no real follow up from Fidel’s statement about retiring a couple weeks back. Sure, we’ve heard it all before and the original poster RSNLK has this to say about the original story out in Spanish. So, if he’s right, he deserves the kudos for finding the story first.

But don’t get too excited, yet. We’ve been down this road before.

According to an article at Payo Libre by Alberto Muller, sources close to the Castro progeny are reporting that the coma andante has taken a turn for the worse and is suffering from respiratory distress. Although I’ve long ago given up trying to figure out the condition of he whose name must not be mentioned, I did find an interesting morsel with just a hint of justice about it. Apparently, however, in his rare moments of lucidity, he is overwhelmed by depression and has extended crying fits. They ascribe it to senility. I’d like to believe it is remorse.

The family is expecting his death “imminently” as well as a funeral worthy of a pharaoh. When we would find out about it is anyone’s guess.

Regarding Castro’s lack of Reflections of late. His last one was December 8 nearly one full month ago. Just to give you an idea about his “publishing schedule” here are his publishing dates going back a couple months with days in between in parenthesis:

So, as you can see, he (assuming you believe he has been the one actually writing them) has published Reflections on a pretty regular basis. As of today, it’s been 28 days since his last one. A sign that his health is failing? Maybe, maybe not but it is interesting.

Since this was posted on Jan 06 Castro happened to release a new Reflections on Jan 08 could they be watching what is posted here intresting.Can this new Reflections be by Castro's hands?
