Paired w/ Flor de Cana 7 y/o Grand Reserve Rum

First off, a HUGE Thank You to my mate Mel for gifting this gem to me...you can say what you want about the crazy bastard, but he’s a generous sob.

Sweet smelling cigar...like Taboada soaked the wrapper in sweet dark aged rum like Zacapa 23, then drizzled cinnamon honey on top. Perfect draw...top shelf tobacco on initial cold draw

1st third: spicy through the nose and back of throat. Dank, slightly sweet like a spice cookie. Medium bodied and very satisfying. Slightly woodsy, but the perfect balance of sweet, spice and body.

Damn this is a special cigar. ..and I aint lyin’

This cigar has switched flavors 3 times and I’m not even an inch and a half in. sometimes you get this dank sweet spice, next few puffs it’s a mid bodied treat that dances on the tongue like a well aged cigar. This thing is like Jekyll and Hyde the way it keeps changing!

2nd third: Spiciness has settled and a very pronounced honey graham cracker crust flavor has come into the fold. Building in body. It’s all I can do not to rush this smoke...im catching myself takin 2 tokes within a minute like someone is about to steal it from me. The more smoke I hold in my mouth the more I’m getting honeyed citrus...just like a slightly flavored tea. Holy ****, I’m smoking tea! If I could bottle the aroma from the smoke and sell it as cologne, id be rich.

Last third: I am just blown away by this cigar. Sweet green tea with spices, bread, med bodied in the mouth...and when exhaled through the nose, it becomes even more pronounced. Every time I take a puff a nice sweetness is left on my lips from the wrapper. The last few inches have dramatically changed from sweet green tea, to damp earth and red pepper flake. The last little bit has kind of lost its way, no real discerning flavors, still great, but on its last leg.

5.5/6 smoke rings….a classic cigar that I am now in love with. They say to smoke these young, as that’s part of the allure/ not sure exactly how old this example is, but it’s been in my humidor since summer. I can’t help but think if these were to be properly aged that they would be a 6/6.

I last smoked one of these outside at the last CigarPass herf in vegas. Bad decision....because of the desert air the wrapper literally disinegrated as I smoked it. I tried my best, but just couldn't smoke it past the halfway point :-(

Damn, that sucks! My wife and I were in Palm Springs CA a few years ago and I had the same problem with my cigars..next time I know to keep the humidifier drenched in my cigar caddy to have the cigars a bit more wet in that dry desert. On the flipside, I live in Florida so my humidity is kept between 60-64rh.

Wow I can't believe I missed this post. I am glad you like the cigar and I'll bring another when I come down. If I recall correctly that cigar is about one year old.
