It tasted like a PLPC on steriods. I actually nubbed the cigar. I'm looking forward to picking up quite a few more.

Jimmy2
While young it tasted great and will only get better with some age. Also i think these have the same but more intense PLPC flavor from the blend about 2 years ago. I think the PLPC blend has changed since mid 06 and do not have the sweet flavor the the PLR have shown or like the older PLPC's.

I totally agree, they are much more spicy and the strength has been increased.
Claudius
Not sure when it happened, but yes, I think PL has increased in strength. To me, that's a good thing. That said, I dont think the sweetness is gone, I think it needs a bit of time to come out, I find it in there, but not as obviously as on the older cigars. And Habanohal, congrats on posting more than 3 sentences at once! ;-) :-D
Ginseng
Thanks for sharing your experience! I have two that took had a little splitting at the foot so I will probably burn those sooner rather than later. Wilkey
Jimmy2
Ginseng there is nothing wrong with at least smoking one now as they taste great even now.
Loki
I succumbed to the urge last night and fired one up at my monthly poker game. The PLR smoked very well for such a young cigar ( dry boxed for 2 days ). I took my time and smoked it very slowly. It was quite rich for a youngin'. As most have stated this cigar shows some real aging potential. My cabs will be put away for a long deep sleep.

Jimmy2
» I will be waiting a good long time before sampling these. That would be nuts as you should at least smoke one as they are quite great even now. Smooth as silk and very sweet.

You aren't the first to call me nuts! :-D I don't like moist cigars. These definately need time to "dry" out. These do look great though! Plus, I prefer to wait AT LEAST 30 days before I smoke any cigars that go into my humidor. For reasons I am sure you both know. I have wasted cigars by smoking them too early. Cigars that just waiting a few months greatly impoved. I prefer to err on the side of caution these days. I am glad to hear you guys are enjoying them though!
