» Does anybody have any experience with the 2000 Trini Fundis?

Not a patch on the 1998. Mid 1999 to end 2000 had some dicey rolls but flavour in a great box was very good. It was a 50/50 crapshoot during that time

I smoked one from around then earlier today, but I do not have the box for the exact date. I have never had a bad Fundadores, but I have heard many people say they were not always great. I must have been lucky.

The tobacco coming out now is so good, I would look at current Fundadores or Ingenios, if you are thinking about buying some. I tried the Ingenios and thought it was very similar to the Fundadores blend, but perhaps a little more giving and rich.

Don

I have some 07 Fundadores and while they look beautiful they taste like a young cigar. I wont be re-visting these for at least a year to see how they are progressing. I have a hunch that the lancero format needs some serious age more so than the big ring guage cigars which come into their own sooner.
