the dane Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Hi all I am having a really hard time finding spanish ceder wood in europe I have most of my cigars in a wine cooler with wire wine shelves and they are really starting to annoy me, as especially the robusto slboxes are very unstable on the shelves. Does anybody know where I can buy spanish ceder wood so I can make my own shelves? thanks in advance
kmax Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Are the shelves removeable? I would take them out and stack the boxes on top of each other.
GoSteelers Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I think there may be a previous post here with the answer if you search it. If you cant find Spanish Cedar use Mahogany.
Claudius Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 » Does anybody know where I can buy spanish ceder wood so I can make my own shelves? Yes, I do. I know 2 places in Germany that have cedrela odorata. :-)

Claudius Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Ok, ok... I'll stop being German now :-D www.espen.de then click on "Hölzer im Überblick" on the bottom left hand side and check out "CEDRO". It says "cedrela odorata" of the meliaceae family (not the Western Red cedar or some other crap) and even has pictures of it. I know a few people in Germany have successfully used this wood in their humidors / coolers. These people are wholesalers and should be cheapest. If you dont get lucky or need assistance with the translation, dont hesitate to drop me an email.
bikeguy1 Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Hi Dane, I've purchased Spanish Cedar from this vendor in Canada....very high quality product, planed smooth...have made three humidors out of old furniture using this product for lining: http://www.thewoodbox.com/exoticwoods/spanish-cedar.htm Good Luck!
