El Presidente Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 A story I would like to share....major buyers are not necessarily connoisseurs. I did a house call to install some humidification on a new 1000 cigar cabinet a client imported from the US. He would purchase 6-10 boxes a month and has done so for many years. Very thankfull for the help he was gracious and charming as usual. He did however want to make a point that he hoped I wouldn't take personally. I braced myself for an issue of construction or customer service. ***"Rob...why is it that Lise and Smithy send me old cigars" EP " What do you mean mate...aged cigars...I mean that is normally a good thing but I did not realise that you were getting aged stock given that there is none in the stock that you are buying?" *** " No Rob...I mean this...look on the back POS MAY 06...the expiry date is past its use by" True story :-) ....and I managed to keep a straight face
El Presidente Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 » You have to be kidding me? Nope :-) Had Lise and the team in stitches :-D
Wolfe Tone Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Please send me all the cigars that expired by 1996.
Ben Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Amazing. Absolutely amazing. I can't get my head around ten boxes a month. Tis not Ugly Dave Grey is it Prez?

Identity shall remain a closely guarded secret and you can guess that he is not a member or visitor of this board ;-)
Guest Warren Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Did you ask him if he had any old bottles of Grange Hermitage that were past their date. Where does he live , I want to go through his bins.:-D

Tampa1257 Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 The one question that should be on everyone's mind, is when and where was he getting his 6-10 boxes of Habanos a month that were "In Date"? Or was he receiving all the boxes with in the same month they came out of Cuba and needed to smoke them all before the end of the month and thats why he goes through the 6-10 boxes so fast? At least that is what I am hoping and not the first one that he was getting that many boxes that were "Best Used By" and he had months and months of time before the expiration date?
n2advnture Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 » *** " No Rob...I mean this...look on the back POS MAY 06...the expiry date is past its use by" ROFLMAO! Expiration date, nice! I could see how that would be mistaken though as everything has a date on it now. Even crap like tweenkies! ~M
Wiley Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 I think he's smoking them past the date but just cheesed he keeps getting them so close to the expiration. This really is so funny I can barely stand it!
