So coming into the quarter finals:

Wales knocked out by FIJI

Ireland knocked out by Argentina.

France to be eliminated this weekend by New Zealand.

England to be eliminated by Australia.

Seth Efrika to Eliminate FIji

Argentina to Eliminate Scotland.

Any sidebets for the Australia V England game.

Steady on there mate, I appreciate your confidence but don't you think you're getting a bit ahead of yourself here?

We have done all in our possibilities.

For only one point............

If it rains then it will be very very close.

Wilkinson will not miss as many kicks as he did against Tonga.

The English pack is good. Australia still has a qwestion mark over their scrum and the poms are improving every game. The English backs are generally rubbish and their defence in the centres was terrible against Tonga.

But the ball will not go past 10 for England - they will kick to the corners and then play for penalties and field goals. Australia had better hope Latham has his kicking shoes on to get us over half way.

If it is sunny and dry then we should run over them.

the difference this time is we do not have to suffer the endless errors of jellyboots rogers and the palyers don't feel as though they have an insane person in charge. still be very tough. seems we have cooled off over last couple of games. be nice if lote ever arrives in france. seems that the english recognise what a player smith is, even if the toxic hobbit never did. huge load on barnes. if he holds up, i think he might, and we don't have a scrum that looks like it is on roller skates, and don't make early cock-ups that give the poms a lead they can defend (awful lot of don'ts), and don't give away penalties in our own half, we should prevail.

best game by a mile this cup was wales v fiji. fabulous. daylgiht second.

and loved the french kiwi clip. never gets old. though it does contain the only footage i have ever seen of an international player actually jumping out of the way of another - the french fullback, garbagoza, leaps backwards to avoid lomu who goes in to score.

» I have got a feeling Wilkinson is going to come back to haunt you!

Nah He'll trip on a blade of grass and be out for the tournament more than likely.

All true

How well is Smith travelling - absolute standout performer so far for me - he does so much from huge hits to breakdown play and now playing first receiver on most phase ball presumably to act as a target for the opposition loosies rather than Barnes et al who stand wider.

Costa Lote is not doing much at the moment but hopefully his time will come. And hopefully that is very soon.

Ken do you see Fiji going anywhere near the Boks?

And lets hope the ABs are ruined by the French.

Aust v France semi. Aust v SA final. Aust wins. Fingers crossed.

highly unlikely. would be the biggest upset in world cup history. be nice, tho. boks have a dream run to the final. they can win the world cup by winning one tough game.

Great to be able to beat the Aussies at something. Cannot quite understand how we're now playing France rather than NZ in the final.

What an absolutely fantastic Saturday. Southern Hemisphere favourites choking when it counts most. I'm trying to tone down an wallowing in victory but these things don't happen too often.

COME ON ENGLAND!!

Absolutely. Quite a day! This has opened the tournament up fascinatingly...

for mine....England was alot hungrier at the break down and Australia didn't really have any support, especially when they were isolated. I can't believe Phil Waugh and Drew Mitchell only got a run with 10 or so minutes to go. Put them on after 50 minutes for Christ's sake!

I personally believe that Dan Vickerman is a waste of space....how many penalties did he give away....played like an u/16s schoolboy who was baited and reataliated to every little thing the poms said.

England wanted to win and did so. well done.

ps I'm an occassional rugby watcher for this very reason...can the IRB please make it possible so that the team with the most tries wins? I'm sick of seeing penalty kicks and drop goals....

5 points for a try

2 points for a conversion and penalty

1 point for a field goal

cheers...

should have taken you up on those CoRos Prez:-D
