What do you do with your empty boxes?

I am clearing out my little storage room in the basement in anticipation of a much needed basement remodeling. I looked at the boxes and wow! I didn't realize I had been stockpiling so many empty boxes!

The problem is, many bring to mind great vintages that I have had in the past and I cannot bear to throw them away.

Does anyboy else have this ocd problem?

So what do you all do with your empties?

I save most of my empties too, especially the nicer cabs.

I know what you mean. some of those boxs represent some VERY special moments and I too have a hard timje tossing them out.

Sometimes I use them for trades or box splits, but then I REGRET not having them!.......LOL....

We sell them to the public with the money going to charity.

I just add the empty boxes to a stack when I get done with them :-)

Use them as Christmas present boxes - 1. Negates me from your dilemma! & 2. Adds a touch of class.

That is a good question...I was just wondering what to do with my growing pile only a few minutes ago!!! Still dont have a good idea so i'm open to suggestions!!!:-D

Some I save, and use for smokes shipped naked. Others I give to my wife who uses them with children, who decorate them as paintboxes or pencil boxes.

I save 'em for the small quantity of sticks I buy at a time.

Good if you're not flush enough to buy a whole box of LEs, just accumulate them & still keep them together to rest.

Also good for storing cigar goodies (lighter, bands, cedar sticks etc)

I'm using a cigar box (Punch Punch actually) as my pencil case. School doesn't seem to mind either

I keep the varnished boxes and SLB's why.... I dunno... but they are good for storing singles or small quantity of smokes that I purchase...

Also when I get any box of cigars that are not in the varnished boxes/SLB's....like RyJ Beli's, I transfer them to the SLB / varnished boxes.... For aging .... Was told the best storage is a Humidor followed by SLB.... Smokes like the Upmann Sir Winstons Cohiba Sublimes...leave them in the varnished boxes as they are like little humidors....

The normal boxes I just throw...this way I dont remember how much money I am burning away.....

i use them for whatever use i can make of them. several hold random nails, screws, bolts, etc. in my garage. i use them as mailing boxes, i use them as spur of the moment travel valets.

I keep some for aging smokes, my wife takes some for jewelry boxes, the rest I give away. I just sent a bunch to the wife of a friend who makes some sort of artsy-fartsy stuff out of them.:-P

They build up way too fast around here to keep.

The rest, I wait until winter rolls around and burn them in the fireplace. They smell so nice. Gotta love cedar.;-)

Me too, even though I have quite a few dress boxes also.

The cheaper generic ones from venders that rebox I save for the colder months and burn them in the firepit.

I refill them with White Owls, and sell them to the gringos.

I keep them until I have a duplicate, then pass them on to someone who needs one or throw them away. If it's a SLB, I'll use it as kindling.

Hmmm never thought of that in fact. It's an idea in the winter when I get low for our fire place.

I'll use my cabs or empty cabs I get to move singles into. Or sometimes I get cigars occasionally that come unbanded and need a nice box to put them in. In fact I'm always looking for some SLB's here.
