Justinwzp
I just received my new Aristocrat cabinet humidor and I have a question. I didn't get the temp controlled unit. After seasoning, the humidor is sitting at a constant 74F/67RH. Is this acceptable or do i need to make some changes to get the temp down? My desktop humidors were always right at 68F but the new cabinet is so large that it is in a bigger room that gets some sun (not directly on the humidor). Any other advice would be great Thanks!! habanohal
i would tell you to keep it below 70 degrees. mine stays about 68. HVAC bills get up there in the summer, but thats the price you pay
Trevor2118
After seasoning, the humidor is sitting at a constant 74F/67RH. Too high, see: [link]http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/7-cigars.htm#Temp_&_Humidity[/link] Not too many will argue with the figures shown there. anacostiakat
68/65 to start would be my suggestion.
smokum
Very hard to keep it down to acceptable levels without temp control if you are in a warm climate. I have an old end table humi that I am looking at retro-fitting a cooling unit into.
Taino
To me the high temperature is the only problem you could have. Maybe the easiest way to lower a couple points your temperature is to buy an AC with a thermostat for your room... some wont even bother... Trev, you've got me a little freaked out after reading that. I'm obviously not going to be able to get the temps in my humi down to 61-65F without a cooling unit. I just bought that big Aristocrat cabinet without the cooling unit because I was told I didn't need it. I dropped the temp in my home to 68 and I shouldn't have any trouble keeping it there. I opened the AC vent all the way in that room and got the fan going on medium. That little section describing the tabacco bettle scared the sh*t out of me. By the way, GREAT site!! smokum
Funny..I have a cooled Aristocrat , its 53% RH in the room and I cant get the box below 69% RH unless I put a whole lot of Damp Rid in there....go figure.

That's wierd. In order to get mine to 67% I had to let my hygrometer run at 70% for almost two weeks. It's the temperature thing that concerns me but there's not much I can do about it now.
