Humidor Settings/Info

Recommended Posts

I just received my new Aristocrat cabinet humidor and I have a question.

I didn't get the temp controlled unit. After seasoning, the humidor is sitting at a constant 74F/67RH. Is this acceptable or do i need to make some changes to get the temp down? My desktop humidors were always right at 68F but the new cabinet is so large that it is in a bigger room that gets some sun (not directly on the humidor).

Any other advice would be great

Thanks!!

» Not too many will argue with the figures shown there.

Trev, you've got me a little freaked out after reading that. I'm obviously not going to be able to get the temps in my humi down to 61-65F without a cooling unit. I just bought that big Aristocrat cabinet without the cooling unit because I was told I didn't need it. I dropped the temp in my home to 68 and I shouldn't have any trouble keeping it there. I opened the AC vent all the way in that room and got the fan going on medium.

That little section describing the tabacco bettle scared the sh*t out of me.

By the way, GREAT site!!

That's wierd. In order to get mine to 67% I had to let my hygrometer run at 70% for almost two weeks.

It's the temperature thing that concerns me but there's not much I can do about it now.
