habanohal Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Tried my 1st one from the sampler from Rob. It was the mid size one ?? I know that Cubas "Maduro" Wrapper is not like Dominicans but I compared it to a box of Siglo 1s I have and the 1s have a darker wrapper. Flavor wasa outstanding. I would say it tastes very, very similar to the Siglo 1s I have, almost exact. I will be waiting (most likely a long time) till the hype is over and price hopefully comes down. I just cant get myself to pay $400 or more for a RObusto size cigar. But if you have the cash, you wont be disapointed. So Rob, any insights of the future if their will be price drop?

The Maduro 5 will be approx 5% of Cohiba Production. That is bugger all. Rough numbers: 800,000 Maduro 5 sticks annually. Roughly from the top of my head 26 serious worldwide distributors. 31,000 sticks each or thereabouts. Some will get more than others (Phoenecia/PCC/H&F/IntertabaK/5th avenue/Altadis). I think a price drop is unlikely.

I don't see it offered on the other site. Thanks!

We have follow up stocks of the Cohiba Maduro 5 arriving in 2-3 weeks. For those wanting backorders and haven't already contacted Lisa, better do so shortly. We may be able to do a sampler package again once I assertain what I have to play with.

It did get a wee bit spongy toward the end and lost some of it's flavor but for a youngin, I was mightily impressed. It smoked like a 3-4 year old cigar. These things also have an intense prelight aroma. Very nice. I'd say the sampler for what it was, was worth the coin.

Rob, if you don't mind my asking - what was the price of the sampler?
havanaclub7 Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 » $125 I take it you were a customer of the sampler. How many cigars did you get in the sampler and did you like them as well as others who have tried the line?
