PUNCH RS 12 QUESTION ....

I just received 4 cabs of Punch RS 12's - 2 are DIC 2005 , and 2 are JUN 2006 ......

i want to give one of the better ones to my Dad - knowing how stellar the 06 cigars have been , what would you prefer - the 6 month older 05's or the 06's...... i tend to think the 06's will be a better cigar in the long run....

Rob you reviewed these a while back , i think ...

any opinions ?

If he's going to put them down for some years, I'd go with the '06s. If he's planning on smoking them sooner, prolly the '05s.

That said, I had an '05 RS 11 the other day that was still (not surprisingly) quite tannic. Different cigars and whatnot, I know, but the '05s really aren't ready yet.

And right now I believe '06 will go down in the books as a banner year for Habanos.

So I'm really no help at all. :-P

Close your eyes. Have someone open and take out the ribboned bundles and hand them to you. without telling you squat.

Take each bundle in your hand...raise the feet to your nose and smell deeply. Which one has the deepest , richest aroma? which is more barnyard? discard the bundles which have an amonia edge.

Got your selection down to 2 bundles. Check construction of 5 cigars in each bundle. Best bundle wins.

Now look at the box code ;-)
