havanaclub7 Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Has anyone smoked the SCDH Merceders or Murallas? I've been a fan of the El Morro in the past (and have a couple on the way). But I've never tried the CdH edition cigars before. Any recommendations would be helpful!

But I've never tried » the CdH edition cigars before. Any recommendations would be helpful! I find them similar in flavour profile (Oficios/Mercaderes/Murallas). I prefer the Oficios because as a line they are rather mild (in my experience) and while they have a delightfull molasses, milk coffee profile...the larger formats can bore me. Just my opinion. I would love to hear the opinion of others.
Moglman Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 I haven't had any of the three in a while, but the maturity over the past year and a half is clear. Boring was a good word for my feelings of these early on. The last I had was a very good Murallas. I've had more Oficios than the others due to the size. Of the three, I like the Mercaderes best for reasons I haven't yet grasped. We'll see in another 5 years which if any stand out.
habanohal Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 I have a few boxes of each. I asked Rob to smoke them when they came out for a review and they are all similar in flavor. Almost Exact. Just seems the bigger the cigar the less flavor and will take much more time to develop
