winelover Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Great review. I've always been curious about the dip#2's and I feel more encouraged to try one now.
shrink Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Thanks for the review. The Dip #2 is a "different" kind of cigar. The flavor is unlike any other. Maybe a bit of an acquired taste, but once you're hooked, nothing else will do. The early '06 are the strongest and most flavorful in many years.
El Presidente Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 I love a cigar with attitude in that it repeatedly ashes on you at the precise moment you are considering reaching for the ashtray Dip 2's can be great cigars. Selection is the key. Firm fill with a yellow/red wrapper and a chicken **** mixed with sweet paprika smell at cold
stever Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Nicely done. Do you have the box code? My OEB MAY 06s are great!

Mel Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 I have several year models of this cigar and sometimes I like them and sometimes I don't. Overall I preffer the Upmann and Monte in the #2.
greenpimp Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 My 2001's are either fantastic or forgettable, no in-between.

GoSteelers Posted November 15, 2008 Author Posted November 15, 2008 Beautiful light wrapper with fine tooth covering, could see this one blooming if I was more patient. Pre-light taste and smell of fresh fallen autum leaves. Buttery smooth with a huge draw & thick smoke, ash falls off every inch or so, keep it close to the ashtray. Dogfish Head India Brown Ale has a great malty sweetness with just enough hops to cover the alcohol, perfect compliment to this smooth Diplomaticos. 1/2 way in start getting some spice, cinnimon & cedar, wrapper split(I think it got too hot, flavors were so good I wasn't giving it much rest). Think this is the biggest draw I've ever gotten from a Cuban, ash still falls every inch. Ashtray - 0 Deck - 3 Finished deliciously, toasted marshmallow, & coffe with cream little bit of cedar. Smooth to the end final score: Ashtray - 1 Deck - 3 Usually like a more full bodied smoke, but for a mild cigar this one ranks well! Draw was almost too easy and the split was ugly and the ash was everywhere. Rating 89/100
