What a great Review Tom!

What a great Humidor. I have always loved the work on that piece.

I also admire your detailed notes. Compared to Kens which always look like scratchings on a chook (hen) house floor.

One of your personal top 5!!!!! That makes it an incredible experience :-)

Excellent review and I too am impressed by your notes along with the bands; very cool.

Ironically, I had two and enjoyed one with my cigar mate over this past weekend. We agreed it was a good smoke, but nothing quite so impressive as this.

Congrats on the humi and the fine smoke. :ok:

Nice review. Now I know why they put bands on cigars...to keep them from unravelling. Nice job on keeping it together the whole while.

Where did you get your book for keeping notes?

Great review Tom

Love the photos and the humidor. When there are photos to go with a review, its just that much more interesting.

Where did you get the notes book? Thats right in line with what i would like to do.

Congrats on the humi and the fine smoke.

Thanks man! And bummer about the par cigar experience. Next time try splitting the wrapper in about 400 places! :-D

Where did you get your book for keeping notes?

A friend gave me the book for X-mas. I am really enjoying writing a cigar journal. Kind of earmarks my journey.

Smoking the cigar was like walking on eggshells.

When there are photos to go with a review, its just that much more interesting.

I agree whole-heartedly! I can't read a book that has no pictures...:-P

I will search for an on-line vendor that carries the dossier. Perhaps Mark(n2adventure) can source one.

OK, I am scratching my head right now. I also purchased a set of these cigars at the time of the raffle, and there was an issue that FOH brought to the attention of Pacific Cigars with the Royales de Partagás and the Hermosos No. 3 of Romeo y Julieta being mis labeled in the humidor and for finding that catch, we were also sent a Cohiba Robusto.

So, would you conclude that the cigar was a Romeo y Julieta by the flavors, or a Partagás? Which ever way the result turns, the experience was great and the cigar review was great. Thank you for the review.

Pre- precursor

In 2002 there were 510 humidors made commemorating the arrival of tobacco to the old world. This humidor contained 5 different cigars. 2 being produced for this humidor only. 1 of them was the Romeo Hermosos No. 3.

Precursor

Almost one year ago to the date, Rob split one of these humidors and sold the contents as a five cigar set, one of each vitola. Along with the purchase of these cigars came a raffle ticket. 1 person of 20 would be drawn to win the humidor. I was that lucky bastard! :-D

Cigar

When I got this cigar it had a big ol' split in the middle. I knew it was doomed but have not been able to bring myself to smoke it, and possibly trash it. Today while sorting a box that I store EL's in, I came across this cigar and saw a new split on the foot. Seeing it was getting worse I decided to put it out of it's misery. Now I am glad I did.

First third:

This smoke started out very sketchy. Initial draws were a bit harsh, but in retrospect I attribute that to the wrapper being as seperated as it was. Tastes of cedar, earth and butter with a sweetness on the finish. You can see the initial construction challenges in the photo.

Second third

The cigar tasted of wood, to amaretto, leather and on to a nice sweet tea.

Last third

Oh, how I wish this cigar would have lasted longer. Smooth clean tobacco and heavy sweet tea. The cigar had a pleasant spice on the finish. Unfortunately the cigar finished falling apart.

Honestly, I have to say this was one of the top 5 cigars I have ever smoked. It has been officially logged in the dossier.

Thank you Rob, Lisa and Smithy for this opportunity! :ok:
