Ken Gargett Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 for those of us planning the long vigil through the night to watch the final, anyone planning on anything special? after the snacho panza sanchos for the semi, i am thinking of a monte A.
Colt45 Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 I've only ever understood wc to stand for water closet - if that is correct, I'd probably go with something smaller..........
shrink Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 after the snacho panza sanchos for the semi, i am thinking of a monte A. Nacho Panza Sanchos? Sounds delish... do you like yours with jalapenos? Or did you mean Snatcho Panzas? A bit 'fishy' for my palate! How can you consider anything but an SLR DC?
Ken Gargett Posted April 28, 2007 Author Posted April 28, 2007 How can you consider anything but an SLR DC? because stupidly all my slr dc's are in deep storage and miles away and i can't get them till tuesday. all a bit late.
shrink Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 because stupidly all my slr dc's are in deep storage and miles away and i can't get them till tuesday. all a bit late. Alas, a pity. But enjoy the games. Sounds exciting; wish I were there.
Bernard Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 I think a Monte 5, which should be long enough for the Australian Innings, which will consist of Murali and Malinga taking 5 each and a series of long walks back to the pavilion by the dejected Aussies. Following that, a D4, for the short time it will take for the Lankans to score the runs and a decent celebration afterwards. Ok, perhaps that was a bit bitter and twisted.... Will it be a titanic battle? Will it be another one sided aussie victory? Will the Lankans hit top form at the right time?
Cam Posted April 28, 2007 Posted April 28, 2007 I was thinking a monte 5 for australia, even a club, or I might light up a Dom Perignon in mourning for you poor buggers

Ken Gargett Posted April 29, 2007 Author Posted April 29, 2007 » I was thinking a monte 5 for australia, even a club, or I might light up a » Dom Perignon in mourning for you poor buggers get back to me when the all blicks have won three world cups in a row. or even three world cups in total. then again, we are talking about a country where more than half the population is too young to even remember their country ever winning a world cup.
Bernard Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 Brilliant cricket. Well done to the Aussie team. Pretty scary how they dominated this tournament. The ending was an ICC mess, but par for the course. When a world cup is played with empty stands, something went wrong. Very impressive to see the new talent in the team. Back here, the blame game continues...the administrators want answers, the politicians want answers and the cricketers just want to play. Next time...SA to win by 3 wickets over Aus in the final, with Boucher hitting the winning runs off Hogg.
El Presidente Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Thankyou Bernard for your gracious thoughts I rose at 2am in time to see one of the great batting innings of all times. I was in awe watching Gilly hit 149 off 104 balls (or thereabouts). Snacho Panza? You started drinking early Ken? What was your mum smoking?
Ken Gargett Posted May 2, 2007 Author Posted May 2, 2007 boucher and hogg in four years? a veterans' tournament?
Bernard Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 » boucher and hogg in four years? a veterans' tournament? Boucher will be there. Experience needed. Unless AB de Villiers keeps wicket. Either way, the result will be the same. The local press is still doing a post mortum on the tour.
Cam Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 our population may be young, but it sems more fashionable to be young than old and BALDING ken well done to australia, i havent seen the results, but im guessing you won, congradulations I could make various stabs at your national pride but I am an honest, proud kiwi, I am too big and mature to bring myself down to such nasty levels ohhh ohhh :-D ohh whos winning the Americas cup, i havent seen, wait yes I have, New Zealand is..
