I've been lucky enough to have the time and weather to have a cigar each day so

far this week. This is what I degusted (yeah, I said degusted).

Bolivar Royal Corona - I received these in October '05, and this one was the best

I've had to date. Bolivar leather and spice, but with some floral elements as well.

Smooth and full, but not painfully strong. Satisfyingly dense. I do admit, however,

that I'm becoming less of a fan of the robusto format.

Saint Luis Rey Serie A - from an '02 box. I have my ups and downs with this cigar,

but this one was on. Smooth but deceptively full in body. Fruity overtones mixed in

with light spice and a buttery mouthfeel. One of the more complex samples from

this box.

Partagas Serie du Connaisseur No.3 - My second from an '06 box. A very complex

cigar for being so young. A hint of sweetness, touches of leather, a mix of sweet and

savory spice. A little bit of charred wood. At times reminded me of a gingerbread

fruitcake. A coating of fruit on the palate for a finish. Call me a convert.

Don't give up on these. When we first reviewed them we said that they will need time but they have all the necessay structure to be a great down the track. The Ramon Allones Estupendo is far more approachable now but I have a gut feeling that in 2011-2015 it will be the PSR which will be the stand out cigar.

No need to copy and keep this post :lookaround:

reasonably good week for smokes. last night while watching the semi of the world cup, a lovely sancho panza sanchos - about to post review and what a shame that they are being discontinued (rob, strongly worded protest to havana, please).

a good monte 2 though it really needed a lot of attention for the first half.

a fabulous hoyo LE pyramide and something else that slipped the mind.

Did not get to smoke this week until last night as my wife has a nasty case of the flu.

So last night I had these with a nip of bourbon:

A Sancho Panza Beli from '04. It had some damage to it and the draw was a somewhat loose but it had good flavor.

Followed that up with a ERDM Choix Supreme which I grabbed and had lit before I realized what I had grabbed. lol It turned out fine. Lots of smoke and flavor. Just not what I would ususally end up with.

Do you often just grab a random cigar and light it without knowing what it is? :-|
