mef Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 G'day friends. I'll be in Melbourne at the end of April. Anyone know some places around Melbourne CBD for relaxing with some habanos? Thanks and wishing FOH members an awesome day. mef
Colt45 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Habanablue's site has links to a couple of places: http://inluminocomms.blogspot.com/ I'm sure local members will chime in with more, if there are any. Have a great time!

ATGroom Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 » Habanablue's site has links to a couple of places: Both the places on Habanablue's site are excellent, but neither is in the CBD. If you have time to make the trip though, Baranows in Hawthorn is probably the most serious cigar lounge in the city. The Grand Hyatt on Collins St has a Casa Habana store in their foyer, and a small humidor in their bar, which is quite nice. The Park Hyatt used to have a very nice little cigar bar, but I can't find it looking on their website just now, so I guess maybe it has closed. Fidel's in the casino is a kind of weird cigar / karaoke bar that can be a bit of fun. Personally, I like The Trust in Market st, which is this gargantuan art deco bar that is always empty, and while not really actively cigar friendly (their amazingly overpriced selection consists only of Sancho Sanchos, Monte IVs and Siglo Is), they will happily give you a cutter, lighter and a big ashtray so you can smoke something you've brought with you. The Melbourne CBD also has hundreds of bars, most of which you wont get dirty looks for smoking cigars in - at least until the new batch of anti-smoking laws come in in July.
mef Posted April 12, 2007 Author Posted April 12, 2007 Thanks Colt45, Havanablue and Zeedar Terets for the great suggestions. I'll also try to check out The Trust. Cheers mef
