We were discussing this on a recent thread - trying to determine if it is actually a new marque, or a cleverly disguised Montecristo. Do you have definate information?

The info I read on our board is that in Mexico Montecristo brand is registerd by a local maker so cannot be sold overthere. So it should be Montecristo brand used in Mexico.:-)

And, are you sure they don't sell the Montecristo label in Mexico LCDH's?
idesign Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Also, I just jumped on the Tiajuana LCDH website and they offer the Monte brand. Of course, they could be Montycristo's...........
winelover Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Would be really interesting to see what the box of the new brand will look like? It may just be a spartan wooden box, or perhaps we could be in for a one off piece of art?

Of course, they could be Montycristo's........... I just got extra info. In Mexico the bran Montecristo is registered by "F.ca de puros Valle de Mexico S.A. - Tonala 133-A" There are (or have been produced cigars. "Hecho en Mexico - reg. S.H. 571 - marca registrada". Now we all have to figure out if there is a new brand, or it is a new anilla , just for Mexico, on Montecristo Cigars. Actually they could be Montycristo's;-)
Ken Gargett Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 my immediate reaction on reading this, without any specific knowledge, was that it screams montecristo.
CoryOllis Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 The fact that the name "Edmond" is involved suggests Montecristo. But who knows? Anyone smoke one?
