So I was able to score a box of these(cost a damn arm and leg) and was wondering if anyone has had one in awhile?

I did some searches on several boards and most seem to think they are excellent cigars. I love all the Partagas I have had so far, so I couldn't resist these. Any info or thoughts would be appreciated.

i have 3 boxes left of the original 4 i bought in 2001 in switzerland...

when i first got them they were just an "ok" smoke ...

now , 6-7 years later they are FANTASTIC !!

i wish i had bought several more boxes... the problem is they are so good that you tend to want to save them for fear that they will eventually all be ashes !! :-D

More like a few fingers or toes. I believe these are the orginal release ELs. I'm interested in seeing how they smoke.

Probably my favorite EL. Sadly, long gone. These were widely faked a couple years ago. Hope you got the genuine article.

$525. I know it could've been a lot worse or better, but I'm pretty happy with the price.

I'm going to examine them real closely when they arrive and will post pics for everyone. The individual I bought them from has an excellent reputation, so I don't feel uneasy about them at all.

I'd love to see the pics, thanks Mike!

Here are some pics of the box that arrived today. Talk about smelling delicious :-D. The wrappers aren't quite as dark as recent ELs that I've seen, but are quite darker than normal cuban wrappers. I think I will wait till it warms up a little bit to have one and I'll be sure to write a full review on it as well ;-).

Thanks for the cigar porn Mike.

Do yourself & the smokes a big favor & wait at least 45 days (torture, I know) before you sample the first one.

My buddy scored a box of these several months ago, and we each sampled one recently..DAMNED that cigar was strong. Unbelievably spicy and earthy. I am not a big fan of the EL's, but this one blew the other EL's away. Very complex, though the draw was a tad too firm for me. It was so strong that I was still a bit nauseated a good hour after I finished it. HIGHLY recommended.
