El Presidente Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 Plenty of notice. Ken and I will be in New York the weekend (in Friday out Sunday) 17th and 18th of February 2006. We will leave Sunday for Toronto before flying into Havana for the festival. I would love to have a looooooooooooong lunch moving into Dinner on the Saturday :-P For New Yorkers, mark that weekend in the diary.
studio253 Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 Please top this again when you're coming over....we'll make sure to set something up....
manny816 Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 If it was not for bad luck I would have no luck at all !! I missed the last NY/NJ get together due to a boxing match in AC. The 19th is my son's 12th B-Day. No way I can get away, unless he wants to celebrate the following weekend. I love cigars as much as the next guy, but my kids come before anything !! Have a great time guy's and gal's. I can't wait to see the pic's . I am sure the crime statistics in NYC will rise that night.
Tampa1257 Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 I know quite a few cigar smokers that enjoy getting together in NYMFC, let me pass the info along and see what they may be able to come up with. I understand that the NY/NJ guys flat know how to party!

Rob let us know in advance... The last time, despite the absence of the guest of honor, We had a blast..the food was excellent(Florio's) the cigar selection and exchange was impeccable and the company ..was in the form of a superb band of Brothers. We look forward to your arrival. By the way, hope you're not on a diet
El Presidente Posted August 21, 2005 Author Posted August 21, 2005 Manny. He's 19....bring him along :-P
Ken Gargett Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 will i be? did you plan on letting me know? not that i am adverse to the idea but having had to nursemaid you around cuba, you now want me to do it around the states?
Colt45 Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 A 3-4 hour road trip for me. Barring inclement weather (which was in abundance last winter), I'd love to meet up. Let us know the where/when.
dragon Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Guys, Don't do too much planning. El Presidente is obviously working on the big assumption that the authorities are even going to allow him IN the United States.
Freefallguy Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 I’m with Manny, wouldn’t it figure… I coach my son’s middle school basketball team and THAT’S the day of their league tourney! Grrrr BUT, like Dragon, I think we should lay odds as to whether the two chief FOH reprobates even get pass Immigration AND Customs!! Regardless... Carpe Diem El P!
Ken Gargett Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 given that on every one of our trips to date, rob has managed to leave both gear and people (and once even himself) lost or stuck at airports across the globe, i'm suggesting that no one hold their breath just yet.

I happen to agree. Lets not forget that February is the middle of Snow season. Unlike May or June. I'd like to see the both FOH reprobates from Down Under trudge through the snow to meet up with us.. :-D
El Presidente Posted August 22, 2005 Author Posted August 22, 2005 Damn...it will be cold won't it. OKwill need to "borrow" some overcoats. I don't want to take winter gear to Havana. Ken....I planned on telling you the week before. Given you were coming to Havana I didn't think you would mind a couple of nights in New York. Oh how I need you in Havana Ken .....I mean....Havana touring would not be the same without you looking up the little red tranlation book for everything from "Hello Senorita" to " What do you mean there are limits to the all you can eat Buffet"

Rob let us know your sizes so we can go through the Salvation Army clothing for your overcoats..I heard that they were "En Vogue" this year:-D :-D :-D :-D Just kidding...let us know your sizes. I said I wanted to see both of you trudging through the snow...but holding hands?? (Not that there is anything wrong with that)

Ken Gargett Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 perhaps one of you new yorkers could give rob some fashion tips (by the way, he is both the fat half-naked blokes in the photo - he is holding up a bad mirror). his idea of a tux is to draw a black tie to his latest magnum pi shirt.

Loki Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 I'm new but It would be great to meet in person. I enjoy the comraderie that develops over good food and good cigars. Plus I'm real close to the city (45 min.). Please send out E-mail when the date gets close.
cybermadhatter Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 As Gene (crossbow) stated we all had a good time at Florios in Little Italy, Manhattan. We expected more people, but the five of us smoked enough for everyone. » » Damn...it will be cold won't it. If you are, then you are in luck because of the many brothers of the leaf in your area. I am an hours drive from East of the City in Long Island. Steven(Madhatter) is right, Rob and Ken, we would love to have you among us. Please note,You have to let us know of your ETA and the Date that you will be available for getting together in advance so we can all fix up our schedules for the month.

cybermadhatter Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 » I am in Queens can't wait to meet you gents...... Jimmy, where in Queens are you?? I am in Forest Hills.
