Montecristo humidor

Just for the price, I'd be skeptical of its authenticity (is there ANYTHING with the Montecristo name printed on it that DOESN'T cost an arm and a leg?:-D).

But if it keeps stable humidity, looks good, and is made from the right material, then that's all that matters, especially considering that's a good price for a good humidor. So even if it might not be the real thing, it still looks nice on your desk.

I am not sure, but the wording or I should say "Font" of "Montecristo" sure does look in the photos of the Dominican Republic "Font" of the Montecristo Brand. Since Altadis is also in Spain, I could understand. Also, Any "Signature" humidor from Habanos S.A. is very well marked or numbered and I do not see any markings that would indicate that it was Cuban in any form.

Most of the Montecristo humidors sold in the us market have the logo someplace on the cedar tray,I don't know if the cuban humidors have them as well never the less If it holds humidity use it..

I agree with Tampa, this looks like a Andy Kossin Humidor, sold by JR by the thousands...

These are VERY good humidors but have no or very little collectors value.

agree with tampa. my first reaction was the 'other monte's'. still it looks an excellent humidor.

I was thinking it was one of the JR humis as well.

A humidor from JR would not have the cuban montecristo logo on it,and it looks like the logo is painted on not carved.....:-|

All Andy Kossin humidors are painted, in China.

This a a photo of a Monte humidor sold at JR and as far as I can see thats the same logo.

Its a registered Trademark for Habanos SA in Sweden too, but its not illegal to own or import one, its just illigal to sell it here...at least if a company/vendor sells it...

no on the glass top where havana should be is read msg same as on the bands of the cigars made in dom.rep.and the humidor in the picture is from the afrique line not made in cuba.....;-)

I bought a Montecristo humidor in ebay ( only 20 euros, without cigars inside) 3 months ago. The quality is high, good cedar . the seller told me that he worked in Estanco ( Oficial tobacco shops in spain) and the humidor was a promotional product , but he don't give more information. I would like to known if it is from special release or limited edition. A lot of thanks if somebody can give me more information about this box

Not sure but pretty posotive that you're reffering to Absolute Cigars which is a Canadian retailer that does sell legitimate Cuban cigars, coffee, rum etc. So that humidor MAY be authentic.

The other is absolutely one of the JR U.S. Monte humidors.

Just thought I'd clear up that one point if in fact that was the retailer you were reffering to. I've done business w/ them and they're the real deal.
