Well Armed
drained a bottle of Sarah's Blend last night. I understand this is a Shiraz? Can't remember year but it had a blueish silver label up top. It was very smooth and easygoing. Drinkable right out of the bottle - breathing it lost some of its body I believe. I like something with more depth of flavor. It did have a smooth tannic underbelly which I like in wine. I hear this is a Aussie wine for American markets only. Ken Gargett
assuming it was the 04? brilliant vintage for south aust. made by sparky marquis and wife sarah, though i have heard stories that they are moving on. they do quite a few different wineries, and first came to fame with the fabulous fox creek wines of around 94-98. not sure fox creek has ever been the same since they left. think it owned by sarah's dad. sparky a great character - half genius and half mad. makes some stunning wines. believe he does so for the love of it as word has it that he has made a bundle from amway - could be wrong re that. the blend is about 2/3rds shiraz and the rest split cab and merlot.
