SLR DC \'05

Decided to smoke one of these from a recent purchase (thanks El Prez/Lisa).

Holy Crap what a nice cigar!

Right from the light I got espresso/coffee flavors. Moving through the smoke I experienced a deep chocolate with building tobac flavors. Picked up quite a nice kick towars the bottom third.

Man I like this cigar. It went so beautifully with an aged rum. Seemed to pair so naturally. Loved it and am sure it would go suitabley with any aged drink. Ash held firm. A lovely dark wrapper. The rest of these are gonna be ash kickers as they age.

My pre-Thanksgiving dinner libations were so satifying with this smoke.

Without a doubt one of Cuba's current top 3 cigars.

I have some from 05 with lite wrappers still not coming around hope they wake up soon.

Don't really see the hype in these yet .:-(

Sounds like it was a great cigar. Any chance these might come out in something more affordable than those wonderful (and expensive) 50 ct cabs?:-(

Thanks for the progress report kat. I haven't yet tried any of my '05s, but if they are anything like the '01s, or even the '04s, they are gonna be great.

I tried one of my '05s recently and had a very similar experience.

Have a cab of these but have not yet tried one. IMHO, the 02s have been excellent, but i've had a few with tight draws. The 04s have been sheer pleasure. Not lucky enough to get any 01s- yet. With the 06 SLR Serie A being extreamly impressive, I'm wondering if we can look forward to any 06 DCs?

Smoked one today since i read this post last night.

1st cigar this morning at 11:00 AM must say they are getting better than the last one i smoked..
