Question regarding the Cohiba Sublime

My cousin picked up a box of these, and having never tried, let alone seen one, I had a question. The box code shows a NOV '04 date and a code of LIN. Has anyone ever seen the LIN box code? Also, I thought that the '04 EL's were boxed in late '03? Maybe I am talking out of my a$$? Please enlighten me :-D

my boxes are all GKI Oct 04 - picked them up in havana so that should at least answer the 2003/2004 part of the query.

I don't remember seeing LIN codes when they came out in late '04. It was GKI and another code that slipped my mind.

Is it possible that the box is LLN? I'm not sure if maybe that isn't an 05 code, but I do know that it was used at some point. Also, I'm pretty sure that these were all boxed in mid-late 04 and even into mid 05. I have seen genuince boxes with MAY 05 codes.

Thanks for the fast response guys. At least the Nov '04 issue seems to be solved. As to the box code, it definitely says LIN and not LLN which I have seen before.

It's a shame that you have go through this, if people would just live by a code of decency and honesty our lives would be so much easier.

I have never heard of that code before .

I also read on another forum a while back that this code came up as a fake one.

The true question is where and how much did he pay for them..

These are FAKE.... please go to Yahoo auction and search for "cohiba" and look at the sublimes and Double Coronas being auctioned off....

That is EXACTLY what the box my cousin bought looks like. The shrink wrap, the EXACT box code, and that AQUI hologram. SPOT ON.

BTW, has anyone ever even SEEN that weird AQUI hologram? Every single box he has gotten has had that on the box.

Rob, you would have the most knowledge about these. Do the sublime boxes you have seen have the stickers in the same place as the box in the link? Also, have you ever seen that AQUI hologram before?

I've seen the hologram before, but it was on a box of MC#2's that came from a guy that was selling Cohiba 35th Anniversarios in 25 count boxes. From what I have read, that hologram is for boxes that were bought in Cuba, not exported. Could be wrong.

Supposedly but many purveyors of fakes use this hologram as a way of legitimizing their wares.

Yeah, I found out the hard way when it came to fruition that there was no such thing as 35th Anny Cohibas in 25 ct boxes. :-| Wondered why the #2's had such a strong ammonia smell to em.

I have 2 boxes (one from the Prez) both SVF May '05. So that can be added to the reoutable code list.

I would highly recommend trying a few of these before committing to a box, they are not the best of the EL's IMHO. With that said, I do have a few resting in hopes that they get better
