As with any cigar, it's a matter of personal preference. I don't know your tastes, so would it be worth the effort, or the price, for you? I don't know. Are you referring to the original release, or the Wolters recent release, '04, I believe? I can only speak for the Wolters release. I have not had an original release BGM. Long story short, I think more time is needed for the recent ones. I found it to be a fairly "closed" cigar. Personally, I would spend my money elsewhere if I want something to smoke in the near future.

The original is probably more than worth looking for; the 2004 German release is still flat from what the Germans say, so these do indeed need some serious aging it would seem. However, the BGMs should become available soon as they had been announced on official European price lists for about 4 or 5 months already, and Christoph Wolters (employed in Mitchell Orchant's cigar shop in Hamburg) stated yesterday that they are on their (slow) way: Rumors have it since long and these rumors cause a lot of questions about when and where etc. Now, nothing really official but the BGM's will be remade as standart cigars for the La Casa del Habano shops. That means they will be available all over the world ... Some thoughts which I have made out before: The first relaunch in 2004 remains unchanged. These will be the 2004 ones and that's the end of this part of the story. Nothing at all to worry if you stock many of these ! The new ones will be good cigars - and the Cubans decided to remake them as standart cigars because YOU bought them all and straight away. Demand makes markets. We are very proud about that as just like this we could add a little bit to the BGM history. Yet, we have no date of delivery. Cuba is very silent which means it will take a while. We will keep you updated ...... This article was published on Thursday 26 October, 2006.

Not flat at all, and one of the best cigars I have ever had, PERIOD. It even surpassed the Davidoff Dom Perignon that I had last year. I can't imagine how good they will be with more age on them.
