Personally, I'd choose Bordeaux, without a second thought - even though I'm a big fan of Italian and Spanish wines. and Argentina. and Portugal. and most other regions in France. Ken Gargett Posted October 17, 2006 Share Posted October 17, 2006 so much to choose from but in the end, absolutely no contest. a great burgundy, especially from DRC, leaves absolutely everything else so far behind that it doesn't matter. looking forward to a 78 DRC richebourg tomorrow night and also a more likely dodgy richebourg from 1934 (not DRC) but who knows. happy to be a guinea pig. there will be some great bordeaux from '61 present but if the burg comes up to expectations, they'll be just there to make up the numbers. am a big fan of vega sicilia also. recently got half a dozen from early '80s at an auction at seriously cheap prices.
